Tally Ho Green: Sgt Weitzel’s Big Test (echo)

My father-in-law recently shared a passage from his brothers as-of-yet-unpublished book that cronicles his tour as part of the infantry in Vietnam. Hopefully we'll see him published soon because the manuscript is a good read.

Honey-Do (8-26)

Ok, so I'm posting this a little early... but it's where my mind is at, and in favor of keeping organized lists... here it is:

Project list as of 8/26/2009:

  • Start Seeds for fall veggies - harvest current veggies (will do tonight so I have something to make my brother when he comes over tomorrow)
  • Fix broken bookcase in office (may require new wood backpanel, we'll see)
  • Pull corn stalks and plug unused drip
  • Finish planting trees
  • Finish cleaning garage (halfway done)
  • Finish making a new bed-frame (halfway done)
  • Show college room-mate how to build planter boxes - This weekend
  • Make time in schedule to advise friend on how to make a concrete foundation
  • Get steel to make modifications for Dad's 3-tier brew setup - Clean up rust and patch bad welds (next weekend)
  • Bring down mulch from Cabin for front-yard (next weekend)
  • Re-assemble Nissan transmission, send back
  • Finish CAD drawings of transmission mods for Corvair
  • Update list of needs for Corvair project - update timeline for acquisition parts
  • Help Sean get rid of old Ford (smog, tires and sell)
  • Find new transmission for Grandpa's Audi - replace
  • Meet-up with racing team to help with Z-Car
  • Finish plans for backyard bread oven - acquire rest of bricks
  • Find wiring diagram for subaru engine - get engine running on stand
  • Make list of parts for Insight - scope new battery cells and pricing
  • Paint house
  • Build backyard fence
  • Remove Rose-of-Sharon's and continue to cultivate lawn for Ginger

  • Find a job

Starting next wednesday I find out if I'm laid off... so that will have a direct effect on how quickly this list will be consumed. In any case it has been the request of the husband to shutdown weekend activities after september (after two camping trips planned with friends) in favor of clearing his list and mine. Considering our list and the state of the family's finances, I'm inclined to aquiesce to his request. We shall see.
